Planning & Resource Development
Aging and Long Term Care of Eastern Washington pursues the development of a comprehensive and coordinated services system for older persons and other individuals in need of long term care in a 4-1/2 County Planning and Service Area. ALTCEW develops an Area Plan on Aging, awards funds to service providers, and monitors and evaluates service providers. Under contract to ALTCEW are our service providers, which provide direct services for a specific service within specific geographic areas.
Aging and Long Term Care of Eastern Washington is responsible for performing the following activities in the Planning and Service Area for older persons and others in need of long term care:
- Determining the needs;
- Planning services to meet the needs;
- Coordinating the delivery of services, which are already operating in the area;
- Searching for new sources of funds to pay for the development and continuance of needed services;
- Providing leadership and advocacy;
- Administering the federal and state dollars available for services in the community, including contracting with subcontractors to provide services;
- Providing technical assistance to subcontractors (providers of services) and other agencies;
- Developing community education programs to keep the community informed as to what programs and services are available;
