Update Announcement – Transition of Services in Whitman County

Aging & Long Term Care of Eastern Washington (ALTCEW), the designated Area Agency on Aging for Whitman County, is announcing important transitions to several Aging & Disability services in the county.
ALTCEW has successfully transitioned multiple programs to new community partners and is actively working to finalize the transition of Senior Nutrition Services. We are coordinating closely with incoming providers and local partners to ensure continuity of care and to strengthen Whitman County’s long-term service network. Our highest priority remains ensuring access to essential services for older adults and individuals with disabilities.
Service Transitions:
- Senior Nutrition Services
Nutrition service providers will be announced once contracts are finalized and services are available to the public. In the interim, ALTCEW can help individuals locate meal and nutrition resources. Contact our Community Living Connections (CLC) helpline for resource & nutrition support:

- Senior Transportation Services
MedStar will assume responsibility for senior transportation, including medical and essential trips.

- Kinship Services & Community Living Connections
Rural Resources Community Action (RRCA) will operate the Kinship Navigator Program, Kinship Caregiver Support Program, and the Community Living Connections helpline, providing a centralized access point for aging and disability resources in Whitman County.
