Press Release – Attend Aging & Long Term Care’s Community Feedback Forums!
February 12, 2026
Aging & Long Term Care of Eastern Washington (ALTCEW) is inviting community members to take part in upcoming Community Feedback Forums to help guide the future of aging and long-term care services across Eastern Washington!
Every four years, Area Agencies on Aging develop an Area Plan that outlines services priorities and funding decisions for their region. This plan serves as a roadmap for how resources and supports are coordinated for older adults, people with disabilities, caregivers, and their families. It includes an overview of community demographics, emerging needs and trends, budgets, and available services. Once finalized, the plan is submitted to the Home and Community Living Administration and helps inform the Washington State Plan on Aging.
As ALTCEW develops the 2027 – 2030 Area Plan, community input is a vital part of the process. These feedback forums provide an opportunity for residents to learn more about existing services, identify gaps, and share perspectives on what is most needed in their communities.
How can you get involved?
- Attend a Community Feedback Forum this March: ALTCEW will host meetings in Spokane, Whitman, Ferry, Stevens, and Pend Oreille counties. You can attend virtually or in person. Each meeting will include an overview of services and guided discussion to gather public input. Dates, locations, and registration details are available at altcew.org/area-plan-community-feedback-forum-registration.
“Community planning is strongest when it reflects real experiences and local priorities,” said Lynn Kimball, Executive Director. “These meetings give us the opportunity to listen, learn, and work alongside community members to ensure our services continue to meet the needs of the people we serve!”
Community voices play a critical role in building a responsive and supportive system of care. ALTCEW encourages you to consider participating in one of these meetings. Learn more about our agency and Area Plan at www.altcew.org.
