Press release: Your voice matters! Aging & Long Term Care seeks community input for 2027 – 2030 Area Plan
September 16, 2025
Aging & Long Term Care of Eastern Washington (ALTCEW) is inviting community members to share their input and help shape our plan for providing services in Eastern Washington!
Every four years, Area Agencies on Aging are required to develop an Area Plan that outlines how they will prioritize services and allocate funding within their region. This plan explains how resources and support are provided to older adults, people with disabilities, caregivers, and their families. It includes information on demographics, trends, budgets, available services, and more. The final plan is submitted to the Home and Community Living Administration to help shape the Washington State Plan on Aging and is shared with the community.
As planning begins for the 2027 – 2030 Area Plan, ALTCEW is seeking input to ensure the voices of our community are heard.
How can you get involved?
- Take the Community Survey by November 23rd: Share your thoughts on current needs and priorities! The survey is open to all community members with a special focus on older adults, people living with disabilities, caregivers, family members who support them, and those who work with these populations. Click here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZQ5JFV8
- Join a Community Focus Group this September or October: ALTCEW will be hosting several small group discussions to hear more in-depth perspectives. These are being scheduled in Spokane, Whitman, Ferry, Stevens, and Pend Oreille counties. For dates, locations and to register, visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GS9XNLT. *The last Focus Group is on November 7th.
“We know that the best solutions come from listening to the people who live them every day,” said Lynn Kimball, Executive Director. “Involvement from community members ensures we’re focusing resources where they make the greatest impact!”
Community voices are essential to building a stronger, more supportive future. ALTCEW encourages you to consider participating in one of these opportunities. Learn more about our agency and Area Plan at www.altcew.org/about-who-we-are/area-plan.
