Project Echo Dementia

June 19, 2020

Funded by WA State and implemented by the UW Memory and Brain Wellness Center, this project uses virtual learning to help primary and allied care providers in rural and under served communities within WA State improve their abilities to detect and diagnose dementias, and provide assistance with planning and ongoing support to patients and their families.

The format allows providers to meet twice a month for 75 minutes in a web-based conference room with an interdisciplinary panel of experts in memory loss and dementia. A brief 15-minute didactic is followed by an hour of case-based learning where everyone at the table is both a teacher and a learner. Members of the expert panel are available off-line for continued assistance and support with challenging cases.
